On Saturday, September 13, 2014 a diverse guest list consisting of philanthropic, business, political, and cultural leaders, gathered on the magnificent Filene Center stage – one of the largest in America – in support of the annual Wolf Trap ball.
This black-tie event is long-standing social tradition organized by the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. It serves as the foundation’s largest annual fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting nationally recognized arts and education programs for people of all ages.
Hosted in partnership with the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), and in cooperation with the National Park Service, this year’s ball paid homage to the thriving arts and culture of the U.A.E.Yousef Al Otaiba, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates, served as honorary host.
The fundraiser was a resounding success with over $1.1 million raised in support of local programs! Funding from the 2014 gala will be distributed among The Wolf Trap institute for Early Learning Through the Arts for preschoolers; Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods for elementary school students and families; Wolf Trap Opera (one of the premiere opera training programs in the United States); and adult classes at the Center for Education at Wolf Trap.
